Let’s dive into how to use this spreadsheet. 

This is a super simple spreadsheet to use. Once you download the template from your Simple Sheets portal, you’ll see a section in the top left where you can input details of the bid, including your Company Name, Project Name, Location, Architect, Bid Date, and Project No.

From there you can move down to the Comparison Board where you will start to enter each line item on the bid, the Category, Item Description, Quantity and Unit and Price for various contractors.

Fill out column and row as necessary.

Once you’ve entered your data, select the Refresh button. The pie graph and bar graph will update automatically. You can quickly analyze bids from each contractor for the total cost as well as for specific categories such as Exterior, Interior, Finishes and Structural.

Want to add more categories? In the top left section of your spreadsheet, you can select the + button. It will showcase the category options. You can add categories as necessary to make your Construction Bid Comparison Board customizable to you!
