Inside Our Production Scanning System
Excel Template
Excel is an incredibly versatile tool used for nearly every sort of business procedure, yet people still underestimate its power. Our Production Scanning System Excel Template utilizes bar code scanning capabilities to manage your operating lines and products.
If you find this tool useful, you’ll also want to check out our Warehouse Management System, Inventory Management and Supplier Relationship Management Excel Templates. Together, you can implement systems that enhance your supply chain efficiency.
Let’s dive into how to use this template.
Start in the Database sheet and input your Product, Part No., and Line List.
Move to the Production Counting Scan sheet and set the production date from the drop-down list. You also want to change the operating line and working model from the drop-down menu in the table in the top right hand corner. Set your production plan quantity for each model.
Select the next model to operate after the current plan. Columns with grey cells, such as Output and Achieve %, contain formulas that will calculate automatically based on your inputs.
Now, connect your USB Barcode Scanner to your computer. Ensure it is working properly and set the mouse arrow at the first cell for scanning. Direct the scanner ray to the printed barcode at the product and verify the product matches the selected model. Each reading will detect the operating line and production by date and time.
In the event the scanner mixes any product with different part numbers, it will give you a NG message with an error notification.
In the top right table, check production counting and Plan Achievement % to prepare for the next plan. Once you change the date from the down-menu, the production count by default will be zero.
Want to start from scratch? Simply press the Clear Data button and you’ll have a blank canvas to scan in your parts and analyze your achievement percentage.
